Nightclub Design

Nightclubs designs are always designed for a reason and why they are what they are!

Promotion Room: A promotion room is a room is for the course of holidays and promotions for the club, to start will be expensive buying all the decorations for each holiday in passing; Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentines’ Day, New Years, Halloween, etc. Many decorations are needed for each event so the best thing to do is buy the decorations, but reuse them each year so it doesn’t become a yearly expense. Also birthday parties, private parties, etc. This room is designed to store all these decorations for all the events held withing the club.

Bar Storage: The next thing to make for efficient design in a club is a storage for the drink boxes, or crates. You need to make sure that it is also easily accessible, if you keep everything in the basement, yes it is an unused space, but if it takes around half an hour to carry all the drinks and such back upstairs, that is not efficient. The bar area crated must have an area to place these things, maybe on one side of the bar if it is a horseshoe shape.

Dry Goods: The next space designed should be for items such as napkins, glasses, light bulbs, etc. This room must be one of the easiest and fastest to get into. This room is usually nearer to the kitchen.

Liquor Storage: This room tends to be a large room seeing as alcohol is where clubs make most of their money out of, and if you run out of the supply you aren’t going to make any money. Beer is usually stacked in rows and the stock needs to be rotated. Also because of all the different varieties  and coolers you can see why this room would take up a lot of space.

Entrance room: This room gives a hint of what is actually inside of the club, more or less this is like a “coat room”. This is where there are ID checks, security, much traffic from people leaving and entering into the club. Also in this room there is usually an ATM machine, pay phones, advertisements. This space has much action so it is best that this area is not too much and corners are cut in designing it or there will be many problems with traffic.

One room people wouldn’t think a whole lot about is the bathrooms, but much goes into designing them because there are a lot of laws based around bathrooms. Mostly they are laws about how many fixtures in the bathroom (usually on location) and how much occupancy is allowed into a bathroom. This is not a space to cut corners. Plumbing problems can quickly occur and be very costly to repair or change in the water supply lines.

Dancing Floor: This should obviously be put into a central location for the flow of the club to make sure there isn’t congestion in the club and to make enough walk space.

There is also things that people wouldn’t really notice, one of those things are raised stands, which are a bit above the flat elevation for security to watch over the club at.
